Sap House
Sap Houses are publically available areas where citizens in the city of Elysium can get purified drinking sap as well as bathe themselves. These locations essentially function as a community center, a bath house, a well, and a tavern all in one.
Sap houses are also work houses for manual sappers, who work great machinery in order to pipe sap from the lower layer into the city. These locations are vitally important in order to make sure the city has clean sap to drink and clean themselves.
Purpose / Function
The main purpose of a Sap House is to provide free and clean drinking sap and a place for the general public to bathe themselves to the city. This is because it is rare for a house within the city to have their own sap pipes, as it is expensive to run those pipes to a private location and more expensive to make sure the sap continues to flow.
Alterations
While the Sap Houses were originally designed to only be the bath houses and wells for the general public, thanks to the large number of people who are gathered there, Sap houses have expanded in order to provide a number of additional things. Sitting areas, tables, and even restaurants were added in order to give the people hanging around things to do and places to sit. Bulletin boards were added for the community to post jobs, requests, and notices about their local area. Private rooms and baths in nicer districts are even available.
