GE Unit G-Si-V

Unit G-Si-V is the unit of Gray Eye who were responsible for guarding Brandan Argent after he was taken prisoner by the vigilante organisation for crimes against Zartriites.
The letters in the unit identifier refer to the species who make up its members. In this case, gorgon, siren and vampire. The species choice reflects the task requirements of the unit. In the case of Argent, the vampire members of the unit were removed after he was relocated from a Gray Eye cell to his house, because of the silver content of the building.
G-Si-V was one of the favoured units of Gray Eye prior to the Brandan Argent case, as gorgons, sirens and vampires offer the most valuable skills for the organisation's work--the physical strength of the vampire, the gorgon's petrification ability, and of course the siren's persuasion. However there are also significant limitations, such as the sun and silver issue, and the difficulty in disguising gorgon hair in physically active scenarios. Despite those drawbacks, Unit G-Si-V was greatly respected for their achievements, up until the point when Argent was turned into a vampire on their watch.
This event was extremely divisive among Gray Eye, causing great debate about where the organisation should draw its moral boundaries; made worse when the choice was made to return Argent to his home, which was toxic to him due to the silver he had coated over the outside. The black mark on G-Si-V's record remained even after the rogue agent in question had resigned.
