Gryz Ethnicity in Realm Gate | World Anvil

Gryz

"Don't be ashamed that you've never met a Gryz they're not a common ethnicity. Most Gryz don't particularly like any environment that doesn't border on dying of heatstroke. It's been interesting that we've actually been able to finally find a Gryz specimen to dissect. Now take close notes Nathaniel and observe. I may need another one in the future."   ~ Calth Frankenstein

Common Etiquette rules

When interacting with a fellow Gryz it's custom for the one initiating the conversation to offer a gift of food or water. While conversing neither party will make direct eye contact with the other unless they're family or in a courtship.

Common Dress code

Most Gryz travel around in the nude due to hot environment and the natural thickness of their skin making the glass sand of the Searing Crater feel like nothing. Whilst in a settlement not under Gryz control the individual will wear clothes. If they do wear clothes they wear fashions that are loose to allow easy removal. The colors are usually browns to oranges with accents of yellow.

Common Myths and Legends

The most common legend that is told by all of the Gryz is the creation of the 12 suns on the plane of fire. As it's told before the Age of War there was one massive sun that loomed over the entirety of the plane of fire. As the Divine War ravaged Aerdran eventually it spilled into the plane of fire. One deity was bold enough to claim that it had dominion over all of the plane of fire. The sultan of the Efreeti took offense to such hubris and the inevitable conflict between them happened.   The battle raged for days before the deity attempted to siphon power from the sun. While the deity was empowering itself the sultan realized that if he didn't do anything that his death would be inevitable. So the sultan threw his sword towards the sun hoping it would do something. A flash of light blinded all on the plane of fire for a mere moment. As they looked up the once glorious was now broken into 12 seperate suns. With that the sultan was able to win his battle and used that feat of severing the sun to engrain himself more into power.
