A coalition of secret magical societies execute a ritual, the outcome of which was an event known as the Neohuman Activation Pulse. Whether this was the intention of the ritual is a matter of some debate, but the end result was the activation of superhuman abilities and abnormal developments in roughly 50% of the world's human population (and an estimated 10% of the animal population).

Roswell Incident/Boseman Landing
Diplomatic actionShortly after the NAP, many concerns were raised by the Roswell Incident in Roswell, Texas. This event convinced many that the Neohumans were really some kind of alien invasion. It has since been widely understood that this incident was a false flag distraction to cover the actual arrival of the first known alien contact in Boseman, Montana. This initial contact with the Myrneans was mankind's first confirmation of sentient life from this reality but off this planet. The contact was handled by the United States of America government at the time, although official introduction to the United Nations occurred later in the year.

Introduction of the Myrneans to the world
Diplomatic actionThe Myrnean envoy to Earth is welcomed by the United Nations and introduced by the US ambassador. The Myrnean's appealed to the UN for sanctuary for their people. A colonization vessel supposedly containing the remains of the Myrnean civilization was expected to arrive within the next two years. Myrneans, being fully amphibious and capable of surviving depths up to nearly 25,000 feet, requested use of territory within the Mariana Trench. In exchange they offered access to some of their technology and cultivation of mineral resources currently unreachable.

Dayton Dilemma
Criminal ActivityThe first known Neohuman “incident”, also popularly known as the Dayton Dilemma, was the robbery of Dayton Savings & Loan in Dayton, Iowa on January 3rd 1948. In this incident three early Neohumans (John James Johnson, Maurice ‘Brand’ Meyer, & Leslie “PeeWee” Litton) used their superhuman abilities to stage the robbery of the vault and drawers of the Dayton S&L. Local police proved unable to deal with the combination of super strength and speed the robbers demonstrated, although one of the involved police demonstrated a minor material manipulation power that enabled them to capture Litton during the escape. Johnson and Meyer were captured separately in other incidents over the next few years (Johnson in September of 1950, Meyer in May 1949).

Neohuman Riots
RevolutionBolstered by the first power suit supported soldiers, many countries attempt to corral or isolate populations of Neohumans away from regular human populations. Countries varied in the degree of brutality and integration that took place during these actions, but universally they were severe oppression attempts following the building pressure of The Chaos in an attempt to minimize and control the Neohuman "problem". The riots and related military actions were only ended by the imposition of the Stability Committee.

Geological / environmental eventBrought into existance by the combined might of the Stability Committee to provide themselves with a neutral territory from the Nation-States. To minimize impact on existing borders, the island of Avskildhet was centerd on Point Nemo, the most distant point from land. A very thick sargasso current around the island also came into existance at the same time. The center of the island is the Plinth, which is a hollow sheer wall plateau displaying the Reciprocal Rules of 69.

Assassination of Sovereign Gold
Life, DeathA riot broke out in the debate forum over a proposed taxation system. During the brawl Sovereign Gold was hit by a two rounds of five fired from different sniper roosts around the forum square as she was flying above the crowd, using energy fields to break up the combat. One or both of these rounds negated her ability to fly and appeared to partially disrupt her energy fields. She dropped into the main melee, and her corpse was found after the battle broke up.
