Manusa Tasque

The Manusa are one of the three acknowledged "tasques" of the Vistani, known for their skill in magic. The most famous of the tribes is the Zarovan Tribe, lead by Madame Eva and Madame Eva alone for as long as anyone, alive and undead, can recall. They are considered strange even by the other Vistani and have an uncanny ability to travel to whatever time and place they choose as well as simply know what will occur at one of these points. How much of the choosing is them and how much is the Mists is up for debate. There are two noted tribes: the Zarovan Tribe (a mysterious group found chiefly in Barovia) and the Canjar Tribe (all members here are mages capable of casting magic that seems alive called zsalev).

History

The history of the Manusa Tasque (and thus the true history of the Vistani) is the history of a young woman named Manusa Eva. A friend of Tatyana Federovna, she was able to alter the Pact made between Strahd von Zarovich and Death to include herself and her people so as to better ensure that Strahd got what he deserved. How well that turned out for her is a matter of opinion.
