Yiptin Wastenot (jɪp'tɪn weɪst'nɒt)

Introduction

This strange meal has the appearance of a lurid slop more than anything truly appetizing. As traveling a realm is a hungry affair, the Yiptin of Hallus were forced to master ways of making large amounts of food that did not risk rotting away during their journey. Three parts foodstuff and one part Primal Ash this foul paste will keep you alive but it will not keep you happy.

Preperation

The only ingridients required to make Yiptin wastenot are a pile of something you can technically eat, a smaller pile of Primal Ash, and a kilnpot.
The Base
The pile of foodstuff is gathered into a large pile before being smashed however deemed fit. The further the food is able to be broken down, the faster the cook time will be.
The Mix
The pile of smashed foodstuff is then mixed together with a pile of Primal Ash about 1/4th the size. If bones are part of the original food mix, add more Primal Ash.
The Melt
Finally, the new mixture is placed into the kilnpot and melted down. If done correctly, the Primal Ash should ignite within the kilnpot turning the pile of food paste into a thicker, stronger pile of almost food paste.

Forever Food

Wastenot has proven to take several generations before going bad. Even then, it may have been edible but no one was willing to consume the hundred year old food as a test.

I was grimacing whilst reading this. I bet it doesn't taste good.

The word lurid is carrying some considerable and concerning weight here.
