Frontierfolk (frŭn-tîr'fōk)
Introduction
The common folk of Hallus, are willing to do anything to survive as the realm around them goes cold. As generally defined, anyone who has lived most of their life outside the safety of a Depot is considered a Frontierfolk and is often considered a point of pride.
Living on the Edge
Living outside the safety of the major cities has always been a dangerous prospect on Hallus only made worse by the SunFade. Sacrifices must be made to survive under such harsh conditions - both literally and figuratively. This attitude of survival at any cost has branded the Frontierfolk as brutish or cruel by those safe within the Depots.
The Cold
To those living on the frontier, the cold brought by the dying sun is the largest threat. Many hours of the day aren't safe without protective gear and a constant supply of heat is required daily. While coal is the preferred source of heat for the general populace, many settlements have had to take extreme measures such as taming Fire Elementals, making deals with Crossroad Demons, or even burning corpses to stay live.
The Hungry
With no heat to grow proper food, the second quickest killer on the frontier is starvation. The use of Primal magic has kept many settlements in food but others have relied on hunting beasts, Chitinfolk, or even their fellow Frontierfolk for a chance to eat.
The Violent
The final threat on the frontier is that of unimaginable violence. Scav or frontierfolk; vagabond or depotee - most people on Hallus are willing to kill if it means they are able to burn bright for yet another day. Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose, especially among cannibals.

Workers & Vagrants
There is little love for the Keeper's Pantheon for the Frontierfolk. Many rely on the steady blessings of the Worker's Pantheon to keep their settlements running while others might pray to the Vagrant's Pantheon to survive wandering the dangerous wastes.
