Death’s Basin

Here lies a putrid basin infused with Primal Decay and laced with dangerous boglands and marshes. It is the ancestral home of the KazaK and the region within which the Magebreaker Cult rests the dreaded Titancity of Blightwaith. Few people who venture into this debilitating region leave it unscathed and it has caused many across the Realm of Seas to harbor an understandably common fear for the deadly area.
— Study of the Relic Seas by Salem Diadios

These putrid boglands and marshy waters are the birthplace of the KazaK and home to their churning breeding pits. It is where the parasitic plague first crawled forth from the festering remains of a rotting god inside Craven's Feeding Grounds. Some reports attribute the entire extinction of some sophontic species to the KazaK and their body possessions; these include a hardy Beaverfolk from their ancestral home and a gentle Rayfolk living in the Sea of Souls before its corruption. A belief corroborated by most Cascarns of the Lily Forest who revile the race more than any other people on Marus. The entire region and its islands have been quarantined and are off-limits to civilized society, only the psychopathic madmen in the Magebreaker Cult live without fear in the region. The collosal rotting form of the reanimated Titan that is the city of Blightwaith, and its circling swarms of carrion feeders, can be seen across the region. A looming shadow that makes certain those who choose to break the Cascarns cordon know they risk a fate far worse than death.

Ugh, what a foul place. Churning breeding pits is a phrase I never want to read again.
