Cult of Clymenus

The official religion of the Tataran Matriachy , the Cult of Clymenus is a dualistic faith that emphasizes and worships the natural cycle of birth, growth, decay, and death giving way to new life. Its members worship Persephone , the personification of fertility and prosperity and Hades who is responsible for the underworld.

Structure

Representing the dualistic nature of their faith, the cult has a high priestess and a high priest, with the priestess being responsible for public worship of Persephone and the priest being responsible for Hades.   Clerics of the cult can either be male or female but are are almost exclusively members of the great families. Priests dedicate themselves to one of the two deities.

Tenets of Faith

To the Cult, the cycle of life is the one constant and fundamental rule of life. To the cult, life is supposed to be lived to the fullest and death is not only something natural but to be embraced when the time comes. The cult venerates death to an extent and in part explains why the cult and the Tataran Matriachy has a more relaxed attitude to necromancy than the The Church of the Mother.

Priesthood

The High Priestess and High Priest are chiefly responsible for the guidance of the faithful. They are appointed from amongst the priests of the cult by the Council of the Great Houses.   Priests of Persephone tend to wear bright coloured robes whereas priests of Hades wear drab grays or black.
