--Blog-- It's time to Press On

Hi, it's FJ here,   For the last month or so I've been steadily migrating my disparate documents, lore, character write-ups etc and bringing them into WorldAnvil. It's a Mammoth (or similarly large, mostly-extinct creature) task that is still ongoing.   My actual book one draft is still being worked on. More accurately, it's being "enriched" from the questions that WorldAnvil poses about people, societies and environments. In the absence of friends who are willing to give me feedback on my draft, it has been great to be automatically prompted to think more deeply about certain issues.   I still have much to import from external apps and storage. But the time to press on is now. I've been working on book one for over two years now and it's only the first of the Chronicles of Qal'ath, the "End of the Beginning" as one character succinctly puts it.   I know I have no followers here and that may never change. But my approach to people is - I like being around them sometimes, but they don't have to interact with me. To know there are other writers, imaginative creators, game inventors - all around me - that I'm not alone in my own world (I don't ignore the real world - my five-year-old daughter ensures that!) - but there are loads of worlds out there being built, living, thriving, being destroyed and recreated. That's what a creative community is about.   And that is encouraging. Wage your wars, plough your fields, travel your universe, make your creatures extinct or overpopulate. But keep the worlds alive. I've found that oftentimes, as an author it is you who gives spark to the idea - and then the world evolves of its own volition!   So keep that spark alive.   In Peace.   Chronicler Add'màr (F. J. Brodie)

I started following you and your world looks interesting. One thing that you should know is that you since you have started writing this publicly you can claim copyright in most instances. This site tracks the dates that you publish so it would be much easier if anyone tried to steal your thoughts and ideas. The only other thing is I was trying to read your world Meta and your font colour is the same as your background. I hope that your world comes together how you hope and I look forward to your new articles.

Hey, thanks for your comment - and for letting me know re: copyright. I didn't know about the meta vs background colour, as it shows up differently for me - so I will investigate and look at fixing that, thank you :)

I've now modified the CSS, hopefully in the correct user-css way, so the paragraph text should, hopefully, be white?   Also this is the first time trying to "voice" the answers in the Meta, so I have no doubt they'll need improving!
