Pinnacle Industries

Pinnacle Industries is a system-spanning megacorporation founded (and mostly run by) the Veraxi, and a major player in the development and distribution of numerous energy-based technologies throughout the galaxy. Through the various smaller companies under their umbrella, Pinnacle Industries has grown to dominate a wide variety of major industries industries, including Novium mining and refinement, starship fuel production, energy production, and numerous ship components and personal armaments to name a few. Since its founding, Pinnacle Industries has always strived to push the bounds of scientific understanding, with many benefiting from their numerous breakthroughs.

Structure

Pinnacle Industries is run by a CEO, who is supported by a board of directors. Beneath them, the company is further divided into Sector Branch Managers (who oversee company operations within a star sector), System Branch Managers (who oversee company operations within a star system), and Planetary Branch Managers (who oversee company operations on a planet). Below them are a number ofemployees filling various roles within the company, from acounting, to marketing, to research and development.

Additionally, Pinnacle has a number of smaller companies under their umbrella, which cover a wide range of industries tied to the Pinnacle Corporations focus on advanced research, including:
Azimuth Spacefaring Solutions: A corporation focused on the construction of ship components, primarily navigation and communication systems, thrusters, and warp drives.
Vashir Energy Corporation: A corporation focused on energy production and reactor construction.
Lucent Armories: An arms manufacturing company focused on energy weapons, primarily bolt weaponry.
Astra: A company focused on the production of starship fuel.
Apexion Advanced Robotics: A corporation focused on manufacturing robots and prosthetics for industrial, military, and civilian use.

Culture

Like any corporation, Pinnacle Industries values growth and profit. However, due to the strong cultural influence of the Veraxi who founded the company, Pinnacle also highly values knowledge and scientific advancement, best reflected in their origins as a research institution, as well as their focus on advanced energy-based technologies. This focus on scientific advancement also means that, among the various corporations of the Proxima Galaxy, Pinnacle is the most interested in acquiring Shaper Technology, both to learn more about the ancient history of the galaxy, as well as to further advance their own technologies.

Public Agenda

Pinnacle Industries is focused on advancing energy-based technologies of all sorts, from weapons, to generators, to propulsion systems, as well as advance the scientific understanding of the galaxy as a whole.

Assets

Pinnacle Industries has access to many various assets through itself as well as its subsidiaries, including Novium mines, fuel production centers, power plants, factories, and numerous research centers. Pinnacle Industries has a number of corporate offices in many major cities throughout Inhabited Space, with their home office on the Veraxi homeworld of Vostea and their office on the Aetherius Station being the most notable. Additionally, Pinnacle Industries has access to a well-armed security force known as the Asset Protection Force (ostensibly meant to protect resources and personnel vital to the company).

History

Before it became a system spanning megacorporation, Pinnacle Industries began life as the Pinnacle Institution for Research and Development, an organisation within the Veraxi Technocracy created to advance scientific knowledge and develop new technologies for the Veraxi people (The groups name comes from its founders ambition of them being "the pinnacle of scientific and technological advancement" in the galaxy). Many of the discoveries they've made over the course of their research would go on to becoming the backbone of civilisation in the Galactic Age, including energy production on a planetary scale and the various components that make interstellar travel possible, eventually leading them to go from producing the research behind these technologies to overseeing their production and distribution. This shift in operations, combined with their absorption and supporting of smaller companies of similar or related industries would eventually lead to the newly formed Pinnacle Industries of the modern day, and despite their more commercial leanings, Pinnacle remains equally dedicated to their initial role as a center for advanced research.
