Sandore

The Near Dark City

"There's something not quite right with this place, y'know? It's just...dim...like someone turned the light down but not all the way..."
— A Traveler

The Warped Dark

While almost in perpetual darkness due to the terrain, Sandore is a bustling trade city. This is only because of the goods that get traded between the country of Cinia and the Farthkanen, who shelter themselves away in the darkness of the mountain peaks in the middle of Iscoania.   During the trades between Cinia and Iscoania, many diplomatic conversations have been had, including ones where the Kanen of Iscoania venture out from their dark demesne and take residence in other areas. However, these diplomatic conversations were quickly thrown to the wayside whenever the word "sunlight" was mentioned.

A Peak Dissonance

Surrounded by harsh peaks and ice steppes, Sandore is everything out of a child's nightmare just by how it looks. However, once you get closer, the people and the places become smoother and more friendly. The almost bowl-like buildings look like boulders in the darkness, but each one glows softly in from the windows.   Each night, the winds drift through the hollow cavities in the rocks around Sandore, creating a soft and haunting whistle that, while most permanent residents think of as reassuring and normal, can cause newer residents and visitors to be unable to sleep properly, causing fits of insomnia until they can either drown the noise out or find a way to mute it from their ears as they try to sleep.
