Olara
"You never quite know what's in the darkness, my dear. There may be nothing, there may be monsters, there may even be nightmares. But you can rest assured that in every shadow hidden from the light, I am there."
The Shade
In the shifting twilight that clings to the edges of sight, where the greys of the Eight Lands slither like restless shadows, there dwells a being who draws her strength from the visibly unnoticed. Her dominion lies in the corners of daylight where no gaze lingers, in the places unlit by flame or sun, where presence fades before it is acknowledged. She is the Veiled, her presence moving through the world like a whisper swallowed by the wind. Her form is an elusive thing, shimmering as though half-dreamed, her dark eyes catching no glint, no reflection of light. Her clothing ripples and shifts in an unseen breeze, always in motion, as though the fabric resists stillness itself. Barefoot, she walks only in the cool solace of the shade, her tread soft enough to leave no impression. She dances between realms of obscurity, lingering only where the light cannot follow, a perpetual exile from the sun’s gaze.Day's Fade
Few know her name, and fewer still dare to worship her, for her ways are inscrutable, her existence an unspoken truth whispered among those who thrive in secrecy. Those who serve the Veiled act with the precision of shadows, weaving through the tapestry of the seen and the unseen to carry out her will or their own. In her presence, even the bold are compelled to silence, for the Veiled speaks in gestures unseen, her language one of absence and implication. The Veiled does as she pleases, neither cruel nor kind, a force untethered by mortal morality. Her deeds are as fleeting as her steps, unmarked and unnoticed until the unseen pattern she weaves becomes clear, or fades entirely into obscurity. To know the Veiled is not to grasp her but to glimpse her in the moment she has already passed, and to understand, too late, that she was always there.

The Veiled, Goddess of Shadow
Children
I am glad that she is not automatically an evil god just because of her connection to darkness and shadows. Despite everything, there's almost a comfort to her.

Those that are evil have an easier time hiding in the darkness, but there's plenty still who love the dark for what it is; a gentle blanket casting silence and softness over the world. Like most people, I don't venture into the darkness, but I enjoy when it's there. Bahs is another deity in the same vein as Olara.
