"Earth dragons? Ah, those boulder-loving, tunnel-digging behemoths! They're like the geological librarians of our world, keeping the underground secrets well-guarded. Ask them for wisdom, and they'll offer you a rock-solid answer with a side of earthy wit. Just mind the earthquakes when they chuckle - they've got a dry humour that rumbles the very ground they stand upon." — Unknown
Unshaken
In the subterranean depths where the sun's light dares not intrude, their colossal forms, seemingly hewn from the bedrock itself, dominate the subterranean landscape. These grand creatures boast scales, as rugged as ancient stones weathered by eons of time, bearing the hues of earthen browns and mineral-rich grays. Each scale whispers stories of epochs long past, etched with the wisdom of millennia.
Their eyes, deep and all-knowing, seem to hold the secrets of the subterranean world. Eyes that glint with an ethereal light, like precious gemstones buried deep within the earth, invite curiosity and reverence in equal measure.
Immovable
Their lairs, concealed in the heart of the earth, are sanctuaries of unseen wonders. These wonders could be ones of material worth or hold the priceless value of knowledge, but whichever might be the case, it is certain that they would not be found within the halls of an earth dragon lair unless it was an item that required a place within them.
Despite their immense power and grandeur, earth dragons are not agents of destruction. They are stewards of the hidden world beneath, guardians of a subterranean ecosystem veiled from the world above. These sentinels ensure that the depths remain stable and habitable, preserving a world of hidden marvels for the countless creatures that dwell in the shadowy realms.
Though some attempt to journey down into the depths of the earth to have a question answered or even simply to meet one of these stone-faced guardians, many do not succeed and instead perish along the path. The journey is not easy, it is fraught with danger, least of which is from the creatures that crawl the caverns.
I love the idea of them laughing and the ground rumbling. And their lairs sound beautiful.
