Gojeshka Vehicle in Project Chaos | World Anvil

Gojeshka

Look. Over there. You see that. That's yours. He doesn't do a damned thing it's been trained to. I swear to the Great Devil himself if you can't get your damned fiend to at least carry one galiil, just one, then I'll have your gojeshka be exiled! Oh and teach that glutton to stop eating all the jakiil!

Traveling the scorching heat of Niil'vrai'kiin Jo'saahish is an arduous task in itself. Carrying one's baggage is the scorching heat is insanity. To both at once is outright suicidal. For the Vraii'jashuk, doing both is their lifestyle and the only way to preserve their way of life.   There aren't many forms of life outside of demons that can survive the hostile environment of Niil'vrai'kiin Jo'saahish. There is, however, a rare non-demon that is only found in the hostile desert—the gojeshka, a strong and hardy fiend that is the working animal of the Vraii'jashuk . The fiends are used as means of transportation, guarding, and a source of food. Because of this, the fiend is the most essential resource to the Vraii'jashuk.

Traveling the Sands

For the Vraii'jashuk, their nomadic lifestyle means bringing about their entire lives with them—homes, food, crop, materials, and most importantly, their culture. To travel the desert without dying, the Vraii'jashuk domesticated the gojeshka to do the heavy lifting for them. A single adult male gojeshka can carry up to 1000 lbs for over twelve hours without rest.    In addition, the gojeshka, at full growth can carry a rider and his/her belongings. Because of this, the fiend is the most prized resource of the Vraii'jashuk.

Guardian of the Yu'jin

The gojeshka, though domesticated, is still a dangerous fiend if not trained properly. In addition to being the workhorse of the Vraii'jashuk, the fiend can also be trained to guard the yu'jin and their belongings. This is essential since the desert is home to other, much fouler forms of life, such as the Kefshka.    Trained gojeshka, however, specialize in only guarding the yu'jin and are not trained for transport or carrying goods. This is because the fiend is a one-track mind. Trying to train the fiend has only led to problems, like the gojeshka seeing harmless baggage as a threat.

A Prized Food Source

Gojeshka can lay unfertilized eggs, so their eggs are extremely valuable to the Vraii'jashuk. They provide a constant source of sustenance, and the egg shells can also be used in various other matters. The gojeshka itself can also be eaten, though it takes a bit of preparation to make it into an edible dish.
We use the gojeshka for many things: travel, guarding, and even eating. Though, I'd say most importantly the fiend is the reason why we are able to travel the desert so efficiently. In the early days, our people traveled by foot and only carried what they could. I could tell you the accounts , many of them by the way, of the deaths of the long and deadly trek. Without the gojeshka, our people could not flourish the way we do today.
