Session 67: Fiendish Experimentation Report

General Summary

After defeating the Balor, the strange Caran returned and spoke briefly with the party he healed Takemura. Caran then asked if they should contact Takemura again in his sleep and the party agreed. The party then made their way back to the Rust Monsters' hideout. They spoke with Eleesa and learned that Elvalur Dorindale had locked himself in a tower of the aurelian academy. She also noted that Felinial, the leader of the prism houses is an odd one. She then introduced them to Tash Moti.
Tash explained to the party that he was looking for an item, a helmet to be precise that was currently owned by the Felinal house. The party then explained that they were engaging in light terrorism and trying to remove the people in power. They were then discussing following the quest to get to get an enchanted sword that they found in Session 53: City of Golden Leaves Report.
After a brief rest, Eleesa called on the part and explained that Gideon had gone to Dorindale's Manor and the party ran to get there. On the way, Eleesa explained that Gideon was originally part of a noble family that was close to one of the high houses, the Hindiel house. Gideon had been close to the daughter of the head and had witnessed her kidnapping by a group of Aurelian Oracles. As he witnessed it, he was spotted but managed to run back to his home. That same night, the rust monsters had been planning on kidnapping Gideon in order to use him to get a ransom. Instead, they rescued him before his house was burnt down, killing the rest of his family and the rust monsters were blamed for the attack. Gideon had supposedly found a place beneath the manor, where the daughter of Hindiel was kept and he had been either caught or killed.
At the manor, the saw the elven caretaker, Alaric speaking to a masked figure called Silver. Maro Rei 'Sky' read the lips of the caretaker and learned they were speaking about talking to someone and getting them out and that they might need to get Rodan to fix it. Alaric said he didn't want them there, especially now with the kids. The party then saw Silver leaving the manor, noticing them, but saying he would not interfere and that they would meet again. As he was leaving, silver also said: "I always wonder what fate really is?".
The party then tried to sneak in but noticed a young girl sat under a tree in the garden reading. Maro approached her and asked if she had seen Gideon. She said she had not and entered the house, looking a bit strangely as she passed the group. They then talked to both Alaric and Gwendolyn, the other caretaker, about having seen Gideon, but neither said they had.
Trying to find more information, Tash transformed into a bird and explored the mansion. Having found a staircase leading down, Tash then transformed into a peacock and distracted Gwendolyn, making it so the rest of the party could get in before transforming into a fly and following them into the cellar. They then found a secret door with the help of Omen ei' Taure's Wand of Secrets and explored the sewers beneath the manor.
To the south, they found several thick metal doors, and failed to open two bfeore deciding to move on. They then made their way west and successfully opened a door to a vault and getting 40 gold bars, each worth 100 gp. They then went around the sewers, finding sleeping quarters, a changing room, a kitchen and dining room and a private bedroom, containing a silver mask, similar to the one worn by the masked figure Silver they had met above, but with a dagger pierced through the forehead. They then found a dump for bodies and skeletons before entering an arcane workshop and engaged two mages inside and several golems.
