The Savior of the Vei

Holyfyre Ishnell (a.k.a. The Runaway)

 INTRODUCTION 

 Ishnell Holyfyre was the founder of the Queenshire of Ecsaev, and also established the ruling class of Vei, the Seic Faer or Holyfyre Seven. Her work in establishing a Vei stronghold in Abeon was so important, that many of the Vei cities in Eryaetos have statues of her in the main square. Her widespread fame became her downfall in 4545, when she was murdered by a rival on the Seic Faer. Her lifes work did not diminish from popular culture until the later periods of Abeon. 

 EARLY LIFE 

 Ishnell was a lightpike, the serving class of Borishell. Because of her ethnicity, many treated her as a slave. She was a mere child when Reangar Allymar's forces infiltrated the Dark East and conquered the three Vei nations of Abeon. However, her role as a slave to one of the lord's of Reangar was no change for Ishnell, and thus she was treated better because of her willingness to serve. By the turn of the century, Ishnell had squandered all her younger days as a servant, and she began to grow restless. 

REBELLION 

 Ishnell started a rebellion in 4002 4p, seizing an oppurtunity when Tsonlar went to war with Archia over the Ithrium Empire territories. Along with her closest ally, Baystead, Ishnell formed a council of seven Vei to oversee the widespread chaos. The Tsondalian King Prillot IV was spread with resources, and granted them their independance quickly. Thus, the Queenshire of Ecsaev was born. With a ruling class already in place, the Seic Faer became the leaders of the new Vei'n nation. 

 LEGACY 

 Ishnell Holyfyre never fought in a battle- her ethnicity prevented her from being a fierce warrior. Yet she ruled wisely and justly, and even implemented the system to replace members of the council. She never married or had offspring, so when she died, there were no Holyfyre to replace her. In the end, a young hothead named Klahrin Belestax replaced her upon her death in 4545. Ishnell's death remains a mystery, but many suspect a coup by several of the other members of council, excluding Sallphiese Markoph.
