Seic Faer
INTRODUCTION
The Holyfyre Seven, or Seic Faer as they're called in Alkin, are the ruling seven Vei of the Queenshire of Ecsaev. The Seic Faer have existed since the conception of the Queendom in 4002. The Original Seven presided over the independance from Tsonlar, while the next group presided over the turn of the period, overcoming the extermination of their people from Abeon via a terrible invasion of Skullers from Battlewrath. The Holyfyre council ran the nation of Ecsaev until its demise in 5491 at the hands of the Ardune Empire.
INSTITUTION
The Council of Seven was concepted by Ishnell Holyfyre, the daughter of an unknown Archian noble. Ishnell was a runaway slave, who helped form the queenshire and break away from the Tsondalian Free Empire at the beginning of the fourth millenia. Together with the leaders of seven Vei tribes, remnants of the late Egleton and Borishell nations, Ishnell managed to wear thin the Arvenon patience and sue for freedom. Ecsaev was born, and with it, came the ruling of the seven tribes. It was not until 4207 that every member of the council took the honorary title of 'Holyfyre' in commemoration of Ishnell the founder of Ecsaev. The local Vei people refer to members of the seven as Llyby (el-ai-bye), meaning 'Queen' in Alkin.
CUSTOMS
After the passing of the first of the original members, the council decided how to choose replacements. In 4214, Bayfort Munuck died of natural causes, and in her place, the Vei people wished local commander Sallphiese Markoph to replace her as an Llyby. The Seic Faer ruled that Sallphiese had to pass a threefold test: combat, wisdom, and speech; in order to join the other six Llyby. After Sallphiese joined the seven, the threefold test became the law of the land for those who wished to join the seven.
RULING PLACE
The Holyfyre seven do not hold a single place of residency, but are rather free to move about where they like- they are only required to be at the beck and call of the Vei people of Ecsaev, who may demand their presence to judge, rule, or lead armies according to the nation's need. Since many of the ruling Vei are windpike, they commonly involve themselves in other wars per their customs.
