Session 01: The Test Begins!

General Summary

Notes:

Captain Sultana sponsored Leaf; Gherd sponsored Foggy ; Captain Caydense sponsored Callaway; Eidella Montgomery sponsored SNTR-1; and Gern Tos sponsored Kopala.
The group met in a conference-style room in the The Wayside. Sultana explained that they all had been chosen by their sponsors to be part of a test run for a Barony-employed adventuring party. Their task was to "deal with" a griffin-riding dwarven bandit who had been robbing ships leaving Port Shimmerly for the past month or so. Part of the test was for the group to make their own plan. Sultana and the other sponsors left Gherd to supervise the fledgeling group. The team decided to split up to go on fact-finding missions across the town.
Callaway and SNTR-1 (under Sultana's supervision) spoke to Burt & Sherri Ironfist in their private home, hoping Burt would have knowledge of other dwarves in the area. They learned little, but don't think the Ironfists are involved. They offended Burt slightly by assuming he would know other dwarves or insinuating he might have been involved, but Callaway and Sherri hit it off and have plans for brunch in the future.
Foggy and Kopala (under Gherd's supervision) spoke to Arthur Stanton, the 50 year old bedraggled dockmaster, and his assistant, Carmilla. They gave them information on the ships being raided and the name of the manager who was in charge of each of those ships: Falk Glorybluff. They speak briefly to Falk, a conversation that started with Falk being defensive and ended with him being touched by the bugbear and triton's friendliness.
Leaf (under Caydense's supervision) spoke to Reginald Aberdeen about what he might know about griffins in the area. Reginald agreed to examine the wounds of survivors of the robberies to determine if they were indeed caused by griffins.

TLDR:

"Team A" was assembled and assigned a task to test if they will make a good team for Baron Iverfort's new Adventuring Party Initiative.

What Team A Has Learned So Far

There have been three griffin bandit attacks, each about a tenday apart. There have been some wounded, but no one gravely injured. The Baron has been taking the largest losses. The other ships' crews have already moved on and not yet returned to Port.
The ships being threatened were all small vessels carrying almost exclusively Chelu-kaan exports like Piter, Ibsen-cha, Kren-sap, and Dew Wood. Falk is loading one such ship, The Grey Moon, which is due to ship out tomorrow morning.
Reginald told Leaf that griffins are typically found in mountainous areas, and he had never seen one in the area. He said they are more difficult to tame than normal beasts are, but it's not impossible. He requested that if the team captures or slays a griffin it be delivered to him. He also mentioned that a dwarven man and his son had come through town as tourists and gone hunting with him a while ago. They hadn't said anything about griffins.
