Chelor

Description

Aboriginal elven diety. Kraa'thom's brother. Born weaker than Kraa’thom, and never got the power or respect of his brother. Strong themes of disguise.

Affinities: Stars, oceans, caves, fungus, deceit. Chaotic evil.

Fringe cult (Cult of Chelor) following that grows and shrinks intermittently. Mostly known for his defeat by Kraa’thom, which banished him to the deep caves. Chelor loves the caves, but is now trapped there.

Chelor is now said to be biding his time in a secret cavern that can only be found if you are hopelessly lost in the caverns, where the presence of Chelor may confront you. If you agree to sacrifice your own intentions and goals for your life and dedicate yourself to the service and rise of Chelor, he may see fit to use you in a very special role to bring about the Chelor Dun, his apocalyptic reawakening.

Chelor became bitter as his brother’s following grew and thrived in the sun, and his own was resigned to quietness. His followers were whip smart but not good at drumming up a crowd. He often enlisted the Cheloraans in plots against his brother’s congregations and plans. This is what prompted The Fall of Chelor.

Avatars of Chelor

Not necessarily disliked by their peers, but often are looked over until they are chosen, which can result in bitterness. Extremely adept at deception, although they don’t necessarily use this skill for evil purposes. They have no need to sleep except during full moons, a time when Kraa’thom is traditionally most powerful. They also eat very little, having exceptionally effective metabolic processes. Lastly, they have the ability to see through any illusion, invisibility, or other concealment (truesight).

Inventions: Tend to be practical, with little aesthetic appeal. Solve multiple problems at once. Generally more useful than Kraa’thomite creations, and are thus more likely seen around in the area. Most crafters in Port Shimmerly have items designed by Avatars of Chelor, although they may not know it until a Chelu-kaan mentions it.

Powers of Deception: Expertise in Deception.

Effective Consumption: Very efficient metabolism. Only needs to sleep on full moons.

Truesight: 40’
