R1-XT1 Airship

The R1-XT1 Airship design is actually very similar even in appearance and shape to the R1-VT6 Airship model. The specific prototype of the R1-XT1 is built with the intention and capacity for electronic stealth during flight operations. The electronic technology on board is attuned for RADAR jamming, jamming of the electronic radio wave and communications, as well as technical signature masking by use of a quantum processor. The R1-XT1 is only designed for transport and reconnaissance while instituting stealth on itself in flight. This allows the R1-XT1 airship the ability to avoid enemy RADAR detections, reject or disrupt missile lock-ons, and to corrupt long-range electronic targeting systems that do not whitelist as Terracom provided technology signatures. When the cloaking mode is engaged, the R1-XT1 becomes a ghost in the sky. However, the cloaking is only electronic, not visual. So on stealth missions, this airships would still need to fly low or stay out of visual sight to remain undetected by an enemy.

The airship has a valid upgrade slot for better cloaking through the use of an Active-Camouflage Reflector Core, though the technology for this core is still in development.

Power Generation

Power is generated by a combination of combustion fuel system, Anti-Gravimetrical Core Generation systems (linked via Nrixus magic power source), and auxilary power cell control systems.

Propulsion

The airship has two types of propulsion. The primary rear thrusters are similar to that of jet engines, using combustion in a turbine force to accelerate the airship forward, where afterburners attached can quickly alter the value of this force. But the Airship can also float and navigate in a more vertical axis using four Anti-Gravimetrical Core Refractor engines, small but powerful glowing modules equally placed on the top of the outer hull that can alter or negate the effects of gravity entirely. This design is powerful enough to make this airship float, but has a low force of acceleration in horizontal movements. The same engines are also capable of emitting a high-powered pulse that can shift the direction of the airship in a particular pilot-defined vector very quickly, though such actions drain most energy from these engines and can only be done in long increments.

Weapons & Armament

The R1-XT1 has similar small weapons and countermeasures as the R1-VT6, but mechanics have rejected the specific mounting of an external missile launchers to make space for different electronic components. The cloaking mechanism is this airship's best possible weapon.

Armor and defense

Each Airship is designed with highly dense metal alloys that make the ships bullet proof, up to a certain caliber. The armor is also embewed with a single layer of magical synthesis, though this protection from magic is not exactly helpful in the war occurring in Polarium. Despite the protection level, these airships can be brought down by surface-to-air missiles or intense mid-air collisions, as well as potent enough power failures if there is a cause for one. This has encouraged the Polarian Rebels to build better air-defense systems.

Communication Tools & Systems

While the airships are capable of ranged communications, the smaller more reliable compact communicators which fit into the ears of soldiers provided by Terracom make such a communication method within the airship unnecessary. The communications however can be patched through the subsystem of the airship for recording purposes. The airship's Heads-Up Display is also connected to a medium-resolution video recorder and capture software, so that military intelligence of the area below may be studied back at headquarters.

Sensors

The airships can all detect digital signatures at range quickly and effectively, specific to locate any activated land and air vehicles, as well as vehicle tracking software used by missile defense systems and the tracking protocols of surface-to-air missiles, giving the pilot plenty of warning if missiles are inbound. The sensors can also detect energy signatures that may relate to a strong buildup of magic, though the detection of this energy is not calibrated too well. The sensors also of course monitor the subsystems and hull integrity of the entire airship to report critical problems or failures to the pilot in real time.

Hangars & docked vessels

This single airship is only allowed to dock at Pharacorp HQ, and only in the designated hangar to reduce the chance of enemy intelligence gathering on the prototype.
