Term: Synthesis
Alternative names: Item synthesis
Item synthesis referred to the professional process by which Leray magic is carefully applied to a physical object. There are many types of synthesis and effects by their process.
Basic synthesis grants an item or object permanent passive protection form damage using the Leray veil. Such a process has led to the refinement of existing building materials to create indestructible facilities (indestructible to Leray magic that is). Basic synthesis has also given birth to the item of dress spheres. This also applies to weapons as well, preventing them from being broken by battle damage, saving a ton on the cost of manufacturing.
Advanced synthesis can also be applied physical objects, often for the purpose of adding additional elemental damage to a weapon, or increasing the elemental protection level of a specific outfit. Sometimes advanced synthesis can apply multiple layers of passive auras to a dress sphere to alter the physical properties altogether.
By adding more than one layer of synthesis on an object, the difficulty of the process for the next subsequent layer is increased exponentially, while the stacked chances of corruption increase. Corruption of synthesis refers to the random breakdown of a synthesized object, separating all of its veils including the basic protection level associated with the Leray veil. Once an item becomes corrupted, it can never be restored, thus is it made useless in Sprawn Valley permanently. This happens because the basic veil of protection layer is required for any magic retainment in the item. But by adding another synthesis layer of magic around the object, the connection between that item and the initial layer's passive function to the veil becomes weaker. If an item does become corrupted, it will always happen during the synthesis, and never after the successful completion of a synthesis process.
