Thunder Strait
The channel between the Eastern Cliffs and the Scaled Islands. The strait is named after two keys effects the local geology has on the water. First, the hard rock cliffs on both sides and the narrow passage (8 miles at the shortest) and on the bottom creates constant currents in the strait controlled by the movement of the moons. Second, the geology also causes the passage to be affected by storms and lightning more often and than not, which when the thunder is released reflects off the rock as is amplified to greater volume and can travel up to 30 miles in either direction (theoretically).
