Demetora (dehm-ah-tor-ah)
Mother Nature
MYTHOLOGY
In the time of The Great Passing, as The Animalian King lived and died as a human, his siblings Plantae and Protista granted their aid in an act akin to self sacrifice. In doing so, any sort of form or gathered essence they had was scattered and what remained became a lesser godly being, Demetora.
However it is believed in modern day that she either formed at the creation of nature magic alongside The Magic Thread or was always present as nature itself but only gathered herself as a consciousness/avatar during this time.
She rules over nature as it is known, (but appears to have little influence over fungus and rot). Such a large domain to rule alone was a strain even for a goddess, so she quickly split apart the duty with the birth of her daughter Elvanna of agriculture (tamed nature) and her son Slerris of magical nature.
PAST WORSHIP
Nature has always been revered, for it is raw and ever present, provider of many resources, of life. To rebut it is to die. Some were perhaps not... pleased with her making, if only because of what it meant for the predecessors but they came around eventually.
PRESENT WORSHIP
That said, with the development of magic and technology it seems nature as it is, is less needed. Pushed to the side and in some cases heavily used and abused and not repaid. Now those that truly dedicate worship to her are those that live in much older ways, in the wild and breathing in the air and fire.
