The Magic Thread
So many things can be seen as a whole of woven threads.
Threads are a concept, a phenomena, something other and not quiet describable to fall into a category. They are responsible for forces that can be influenced by the creatures of the world and are believed to therefore be tied to an individual and their potential. All in all the one thing they all have in common is that they are invisible to most senses, only a select few can see some threads in specific circumstances.
Other than that, each Thread is best described on its own.
The Magic Thread was perhaps created from the desire of The Animalian King's siblings to help him when he became human, either their creation of druids and nature based magic caused the Thread to form or they created the Thread as a means to create druids and channel nature magic, or possible some other combination of unforeseen consequences to their desperate actions. The creation of this thread will forever be disputed.
Regardless, many agree nature magic was the first type of magic. Followed then by divine. Then with creativity of the bards and their near instinctive talent they found expression could be channeled through the Thread as well. And with this discovery, it could be catelogued, learnt and thus expanded upon in what would then be known as scholar magic or learned magic.
Regardless of the type, all these types of magic rely on their vocals fluctuating and/or their fingers plucking the Magic Thread into submission for their purposes. Some spells take longer, as the thread needs to be warped, shaped or tied into more intricate shapes, while others simply require a single pluck at just the right angle. Enchanting requiring even more delicate and long-lasting work to embed the Thread permanently.
Magic can even be used to see, well, magic. Doing so allows one to see how the Thread may be tightly bound around a magical object, when it is being plucked by another casting a spell, or wrapped around a creature when under a spell's effects.
Manifestation
When it is becomes visible (usually through magic means) the Magic Thread appears as a literal thread that disappears in peripheral vision and at great distances.
It's colour changes depending on the nature of the magic. But generally when not spealised it has been described like a string of oil slick.
