Centyrs (sen-teers or sen-tars)

The exact origins of why the Centyrs were created are unknown. However one thing is clear, they are the result of mass fallen Animalians of the Equidae Class being taken pity on (or used) by a deity. The Animalian Thread ingrained by The Animalian King within their DNA was removed, leaving them in a half-human half-animal state of their making. Many believe this was the end result of the downfall of the Equidae Guardian beforehand.

Now Centyrs roam small territories of the wildest nature to defend to their last breath. They have a more bestial nature than has been associated with other Animalians and neither race seems to have any lingering natural loyalty to one another.

Animalians: Their history is old business, they respect the Animalians solely for their unending loyalty to their duty.

Humans: Humans on the other hand have taken to tearing up the land for its resources without asking and without giving back. Centyrs are discontent with them.

Elves: Haughty and too held up in their etiquette and speech for the Centyr's liking, however, they have a mutual standing in representing what comes naturally in the world so they're at least on the same side.

Appearance

  • Seeing the Equidae's inability to fully utilize the horse form for all its speed and power, the deity of the Centyr's creation modified their forms to include the extra pair of legs needed for speed. Centyrs resemble horses from the base of their necks downward, from which the form of a human protrudes from the waist up.
  • Their manes remain, beginning from the head of the human and running along the spine of both human and horse forms.
  • Some Centyrs also have horse ears in place of humanoid ones.

Height & Weight: Centyrs stand around 7 feet tall, with their equine bodies at least 4 feet at the withers. Average around 2,100lbs / 950kgs

Features

Horses are still used in the transportation of people (for speed) or goods (for strength) to this day. To have that accessible in Centyrs' own forms is a great boon as much as it can be a great bane. They can sprint at great speeds and gallop steadily for hours on end, all the while they can be loaded up with gear or even a rider (should they have earned such an honour), making Centyrs a difficult enemy to match in war, even their hooves are devastating in trample.

On the other hand, Centyrs are unable to climb and are essentially vertically locked, they cannot scale even moderately rocky surfaces without aid, straight cliffs and you practically need to build an elevator. Trees? Forget it.
