"The Crone is the oldest of the central refinery stations, and the smallest, and as of a couple of years back it's the acting capital for the Co-Operatives and meeting-point for local and foreign delegates. Come one more year it'll change to CR-03, the Maiden station, then the Matron and back to the Crone, with the freshly elected heads of each station acting in representation of Co-Op interests as a whole, all in an endearingly typical Co-Op way of decentralising and sharing power. As a side-effect, the ambassadorial facilities are often a little more ad-hoc than the others, since they spend six out of every nine years as something else, leading to the interesting situation of walking to my provided quarters necessitating a walk through a local diner's kitchen.
