Where Old and New Grow Together
An oceanside town. Helenskep has an interesting history of defending sea raiders and a strong interest in sustainable fishing. The Picnic Islands have become a popular tourist attraction.
New Helenskep, at the top of the ravine cliffs, has become quite prosperous since the Cawes Memorial People Transport System built a large branch line to retrieve goods from the ships that bring their goods up the Helenskep Cliff Lift. Parcadia has funded new schools and a proper City Center building, whereas before the city council would meet at people's houses or the Ravine Yacht Club.
Demographics
There is a division between the two major populations of the town: the local residents with their small fishing boats and pleasurecraft, and the major trading center to the north filled with tradesmen, brokers, and Parcadian lawmakers.
Defences
The Picnic Islands are a great defence from external forces overtaking by water, however the dredging of the water to the north of old Helenskep has made a huge hole that needs to be kept clear for shipping.
Industry & Trade
Currently it is the best way to get goods from the ocean up the escarpment to the rest of Parcadia.
Formerly it was known for its fishing.
