Helen, the youngest daughter of the chieftain who had been left to watch over the children, realized that the raider battle her older family members had sailed off to was a decoy to demoralize the figters, by leading them off to a fake battle then coming under the cover of darkness to kill the children. Using small boats and the ingenuity of the young children she had been minding, Helen set up large fires on the islands now known as the Picnic Islands to simulate where the village actually was. The sounds of the raiders crashing into the outer islands gave the children pleasant dreams that night. The family members returned, expecting the village to have been slaughtered based on the revelations of the enemy leader. To their surprise, not only were the children playing in their small boats at the ravine entrance when they returned, but they had successfully looted several crashed boats and convinced the endentured crew to turn on their slaver leaders.   Helen went on to build the first permanent settlement at the mouth of the Western Ravine . The Helenskep Keep Lighthouse is the last complete remaining structure of that time.
