Wycra

The Wycra are a sub race of Humans that practice a unique form of magic that is wildly viewed by most cultures in the world as dangerous and even sacrilegious and thus have made it forbidden and illegal. The Wycra live separately from other Humans, often in tribes of up to 12 women with no males. The Wycra also have a very distinct distinction that separates them from all other races, by the time a Wycra gets to the age of twelve, their soul gets torn apartand then manifests itself as an animal - a familiar. The first Wycra, Corvin Thalmore, had a Lineage Magic that allowed him to manifest an animal as a familiar, meaning a regular animal that shared his soul. As time moved on the properties of the Familiars changed and now Wycran Familiars can be magical and even very powerful animals but is usually not the case. Unlike a regular familiar, a Wycra's soul is tied solely to their familiar and thus are practically immortal as long as their familiar is safe and alive. Due to this and to their Familiars life span, the lifespan of a Wycra can be up to a 1,000 years or perhaps even more. Most Dapplekin are Wycras that have undergone the Detachment Ceremony and have had their familiar torn apart from them, living as a shade whilst they rip the benefits.
