Lineage Magic

Lineage Magic is a kind of Sangunati where the magic properties or magical abilities pass down from father to son. It can be exactly the same magic abilities or affinity to the exact same magic abilities, for example: A father who can move through shadows and thus the son can move through shadows.
It can be that some characteristics of the magic of the father have passed on to the son, for example: A father who can control fire and thus the son can make fire
It can be that an affinity towards a type of magic is passed down from father to son, for example: Both father and son have an affinity towards Elemental Magic/ Soul Magic/etc.
There are many Lineage Magic out there as well as combinations of some due to mixed breeding between families. However, in doing this the outcome gets a bit more uncertain. It may happen that the son will be born with both, only one of them, a new combination of the two, or without any, and the chance for being born without any Lineage magic after such mix breeding is substantialy higher than without it. Because of this a lot of strong families arranged marriages between them, hoping to create stronger kids with stronger Lineage Magic. This however meant that the children who were born "failures" sometimes suffered horrible fates. This was especially common at the Elves
