Urthspyre Council

A council of elected representatives that manages the prosperity of Urthspyre. There are 6 seats on the council, one for each race within the realm.

Public Agenda

Law & Order - 3% of the population has been conscripted into the guard, the majority of which are men. The council feels its the duty of its citizens to help protect its walls, and surrounding territory. This has caused some disagreement, especially among the more adventurous type who like to go out and do their own thing.
Economics - The council is attempting to establish a Merchant's guild among the top businesses within the city. They hope to bring about uniform cooperation, increased taxation, and supplies. Some merchants are on board, but some resists the integration.

Entertainment - Since times are rough, supplies limited, and traveling outside the city is a matter of risking ones life, the council has taken it upon themselves to finance local distractions. A new entertainment district is being constructed within the eastern market as a result. The feelings on this are also mixed.

The council has command of 1500 well armed, yet inexperienced guards.
