The Sunstone Party
The Sunstone Party was a collection of lizardfolk who had migrated as a way to better the survival of their heritage. Some important Samaritan traditions hail from their culture. While the original parties no longer exist, the noble families who are descendents of the Sunstone Party and the traditions they popularized in Samaria are still notable parts of society.

History
Their heritage dates back to a region colloquially known as Hot Rocks in Cogroa before the Fraeling Golden Age. As with most peoples during that time, there was a great diaspora and their sense of nationality and kinship were reduced to embers, though the reason is unknown. Much later, as societies rebuilt, a small band of lizardfolk attempted to rebuild their ancestral heritage in the Wyldlands with their new sense of culture and community as the Sol Scala. After a clash with the Wyld Embassy, a rift formed among the people. Such division was not personal, but still deemed toxic for their community. Many wondered if staying or migration was most beneficial. One band broke off, calling themselves the Sunstone clan, and joined the migrations to Espiria.
On Espiria, they eventually settled in Emerald where they felt most at home. In time, their traditions and ability to adapt to the mercantile culture helped propel them into nobility and even a political party. While they did not win the first election, many of their traditions were ingrained in Samaritan culture and the noble families still hold significant influence.

Disbandment
When Samaria gained full independence, there was an election held for the first president of Samaria. The Samaritan Party won with a noble from the party being chosen. With that election, the parties were disbanded and the new electoral system was founded.
