Panshaw
The town of Panshaw, while small, specializes in growing unique produce with the help of the Local Druids, who serve as farmers. While they don’t grow in bulk like larger towns, Hullbeck and Addersfield, they prosper through the uniqueness of the products.
Demographics
All races tend to live within Panshaw, either through working at the farms or ease of access reaching the forest. Particularily, Catfolk enjoy living in Panshaw due to the sweet fruit that the farms grow.
Government
The three farm owners, while referred to as “Archdruids” by the residents out of respect, have not earned the title nor lead any other Druids other than their apprentices, to which each often only takes on one each at a time. Still, they consider the village their “Grove”, and themselves part of “The Circle of Cultivation”, which prioritizes balancing ‘Growth for Consumption’.
Infrastructure
Panshaw is the location of three large farms, each with specialized environments and conditions to grow rare and exotic fruit.
The town is one of the first settlements in Harkarl which embraced Technologies, utilizing the elements to improve their farms. A windmill had been setup to mill wheat, while a waterwheel was prepared to produce electricity to power Sprinklers and Heat Stoves.
History
Coming from the East, Flick was exiled from its clan when it was born without being part of its Hivemind. Instead, it found itself capable of telepathically linking to any other beings at will, including plants and animals. This led to it interacting primarily with the two, unknowingly taking the first steps to becoming a Druid.
Through this, rather than just being a Harvester, Flick decided to instead become a cultivator. It was the first to begin farming in the area, without the First King’s Permission. When approached by the King’s Men to be displaced, its immediate words when it made the telepathic link had been what kept it from being displaced.
“You have got to try this thing. It's called a Kiwi.”
Its innocence and willingness to cooperate created a positive first impression, and allowed further trades and agreements to be made, though a mediator, who turned to be a descendent of Mayor Zess was required to simplify things so Flick would understand.
Since then, Flick had been permitted to farm in the area, which led to the Panshaw being formed.
Being exiled from its hive, it never became “obsolete”, and as such was able to continue life well past its average lifespan of a Fomian Harvester allowing it to reach what Druids consider a “Timeless Nature”, where the body ceases to age.
Flick is extremely wise, but has never lost its cheery attitude or childlike wonder. It worked closely with Zess’ family to establish the town, but chose not to take the leadership position as Flick fears it still has yet to fully comprehend life outside of a Hivemind. To it, its workers are its hive, and none of them will ever become obsolete.
Flick is the closest of the three Druids to being considered an Archdruid, but has yet to initiate final rites to obtain the title. It understands it has the capabilities, but chooses not to for some unknown reason
