Tali's Talisams
Floating around the island is a very extravagant looking House Boat. It is decorated in various chimes, charms, ornaments and decorations. Across the hull of the boat, as well as on the side of the building is the shop's name, Tali’s Talismans.
Purpose / Function
Tali originally had the boat made to house her and her son, as they traveled around the world. It was small enough to not be of interest to pirates, but large enough to house supplies and house the family of two during their journey. Tali did not want her son to live in one place, and wanted to experience the world.
They began their journey starting from Kiru, and traveled the coast before beginning to travel the outer continents. However, at one point when her son expressed he wanted to be able to make friends and stay in one place, Tali took the boat to Old Ashton, which she heard had a schoolhouse, so her son could have the life he wanted.
Design
The boat is extremely practical for the purposes of a business. Customers walk up a gang plank to the show deck, where most of the displayed decorations are for sale. They can go down the stairs to the lower deck where some more specialized talismans are kept, ones with magical effects.
There is no counter or workspace, as Tali regularly walks around the boat reorganizing misplaced products. This is also a safety measure, as it allows Tali and her son to keep an eye out for shoplifters.
Her personal workshop and home is on the opposite side of the island, kept hidden by the foliage and jungle brush. It possesses a dock underneath for her shop.
Alterations
When Tali moved to Old Ashton, she had hired the Boatswains to make massive alterations on her boat. As she wanted to settle down, at least for now, she had the kitchen, living area and bedroom completely removed, instead opting for an open layout hull. From here, she set her storefront, painting it to a purple color and decorating it with all the trash turn charms she crafted during their journey to fund the endeavor.
Tourism
Tali’s Talisams is an extremely popular destination. Their small size and unique tropical designs are catchy, and an easy souvenir for anyone traveling to Old Ashton. It's often bustling with business hence why Tali’s son works with her, and she is also known to hire part time workers to assist at the shop or gather materials from the ocean.
