Feywildians
Civilization and Culture
History
Feywildians are a diverse group of races that trace their origins to the Feywild, a plane of existence parallel to the material world, suffused with wild magic and primal energies. When Aedar created Faërlond (the Feywild), he decreed that his children would have no power to alter it, leaving it in the hands of those whose mortality knew no bounds. However, he allowed his children to create life there, so the fey realm would not be empty.
The various gods, seeing the potential of this magical realm, began to create races that could thrive in its chaotic and enchanted environment. Each god imbued their creations with unique abilities and traits that reflected aspects of the Feywild itself.
Feywildian races are characterized by their innate connection to nature and magic. They often possess abilities that allow them to adapt quickly to changing environments, blend with their surroundings, or manipulate the fabric of reality in small but significant ways. This adaptability is a necessary trait for survival in the ever-shifting landscape of the Feywild.
The society of Feywildians is as diverse as the races themselves. Some form tight-knit communities, while others are more solitary or nomadic. What they share is a deep respect for the natural world and the ebb and flow of magical energies that permeate their homeland.
Feywildians have a complex relationship with time. In the Feywild, time flows differently than in the material plane, which can lead to unique perspectives on life, aging, and history among these races.
While many Feywildians remain in the Feywild, some have found their way to the material plane, either through natural portals or by choice. These individuals often struggle to adapt to the more rigid and predictable nature of the material world but bring with them a touch of Feywild magic and mystery.
