After a ruling fairly for 34 years King Maffeo Rex passes away in his sleep aged 74.

As he aged King Maffeo empowered his wife and child to become much more active in the ruling of the kingdom. He would often go days without sleeping and he seemed haunted by his past. He finally passed peacefully surrounded by his loyal advisers, family, and the various priests he had brought to protect his journey into the afterlife.
