Academy Library

Located at the center of The Academy's Campus, the Academy Library is a place of learning where countless students go to cram for exams and more. Furthermore, researchers often seek to be granted access to the Library, to peruse its excellent materials.   The Library is a safe place, guaranteed by its Librarians. Covertly employing Sensewire networks, they keep an eye on every corner and immediately take action when any form of intimidation is detected. Under the guise of properly allowing for studying, they do not fear evicting any nobles harassing other students. Repeated violators are not only escorted out by force, but also banned until after periodic exams, impacting their grades.

Sections

The Library is separated into three types of chambers. There's the Study Halls, the Research Areas, and the Archives. The Study Halls are laid in the form of spokes, radiating from the center. Each Hall is centered around a large table, with bookshelves leading away from it. The structure is open, so that there are no blindspots to hide bullying. Each Hall is dedicated to a single type of subject, so that students can easily study together.   The Research Areas are famous across the Continent, as they contain many books on historical events. Ancient research and history can almost all be found here, even history long erased in their country of origin. These areas lay between the spokes, and require an escort to access. Lastly, the Archives contain preserved originals. Every single book in the other areas are copies from originals kept safe in the Archives, which are only accessible by explicit permission of the Principal.

History

The Library was constructed at the starting of the Academy, and like many other parts designed bigger than initially filled. It took over three decades before the entire space had been filled and been put into use. As all other important places of the Academy, construction was slow due to extensive use of Wardstone and Sealstone for security purposes.   The long construction period is near-impossible to notice when inside the Library, because its basic design was completed before even the first stone was laid. Its construction thus wasn't an organic growth, but planned from the very start. Only the coloration of the stone, showing the spread of materials used in construction, hint at the order of construction.
