Wardstone

Wardstone is a mineral which can be used to charge and channel defensive Tarot Abilities. When constructed into pillars, defensive barriers can be created between them, costing far less effort than a manual ward would take. Furthermore, these wards can be charged and only dissipate over time. If an area is completely surrounded by active Wardstone, those inside are also directly protected.
Wardstone is used by nobility and royalty alike, to safeguard thronerooms and dining rooms. It also is used at arenas, to protect both spectators and participants of Tarot fights. Nobility may also carry a small charged piece, to create a defensive ward in case of emergency. Lastly, it is the main ingredient of Sensewires.
While not extremely rare, Wardstone is still very expensive due to the effort required to manipulate it. Its production process requires extreme heat to temper, and usage requires skilled Tarot users to charge. This is why only some outside nobility can afford it, and even then often would not bother.
