Okotesh
Okotesh is a busy city. It is relatively new and up-and-coming only being around 100 years old. It is filled with many different kinds of people but the upper class and leaders are made up of elves and earth and water genasi. The city is framed as democratic but the government only supports the rich and makes sure the ones in power stay there. The divide between the poor and the wealthy is very large and apparent. The government doesn't give voices to the lower class and they are overpoliced, leading to many in jail.
The city is built halfway into a mountain and below the mountain is Widowship Lake . Around the northwestern side of the lake is a bright and skyscraper-filled horizon. This is the wealthiest section of the town called the Oreidium Lights. Besides that section of the city, most of the city is crime-ridden and consists of the lower class. The poorest of the citizens work in the mines, barely making a living.
Besides general minerals and fishing the most advantageous export of Okotesh is Oreidium. It is a light purple crystal that enhances abjuration and defense magic. It is often bought by militaries and prisons.
They are known to have a very strong guard and military force. They often have diplomacy issues as many of their leaders are shortsighted and many of the ancient dwarvish city-states are jealous and angry over their quick mining success and the poor working conditions.
Many of the political leaders including the current president, Selina Okotesh, are part of the Okotesh family line. They are earth genasi mostly made of gold and very easy to spot. Willamina Okotesh, is the ambasitor and representive for the Court of Countillan is also part of this line and is the aunt of the current president.
