Ritual

A Ritual is a unique form of Manus that can technically be performed by anyone with the knowledge. Rituals require different combinations of symbols, glyphs, and runes to be performed. They are extremely powerful and can have near limitless potential in what they can do. Rituals are perfromed using the natural Od and Vis in the surrounding area to create what other magical effect desired. This is extremely dangerous as the wrong combination of runes or an incorrect balance of Vis and Od for the intended effect can result in any number of effects or curses: even the death of everything in the area.
The only people known to have used Rituals are the 3 Sages and the Sibling Serpents who taught them, however legends say that the Grandmaster of each college is taught some very elementary Ritual knowledge to aid in the protection of the Colleges.
There are only two confirmed uses of Rituals in History. The creation of the Mythic Artifacts from the Bones of the Great Serpent by the 3 Sages and the enchanting of the Great Colleges.
There is also a legend that a failed use of a Ritual resulted in the creation of the Ashlands of Sarska.
