The noble families are Marcellus, Kontar, Stone, Navarro, and Sapik; with the Marcellus family running the local logging company and the Temple of the Sun and Moon keeping a large portion of the town's population employed and running the main religious services. The council as a whole oversees the mining operations two days east at the base of the Spine of Lost Giants, keeping satellite council representatives there to oversee the day-to-day operations of the clay and stone mines.

History

In the year 680 ACW, with the War of Tribulation having come to an end the leaders of the Marcellus, Stone, Kontar, and Navaro families reestablished themselves along the Oaksby River promising to work together to rebuild what they had lost. Over the course of the next century, Rochmond became a formal town with only the Marcellus family having an estate within the town proper and the rest of the families setting up satellite homes within the town and keeping their estates within easy walking distance.
In the year 736 with the Divine War broke out to the west of the Infernal Mountains, and while it did not affect Rochmond the leaders of the town felt it was important to do their part to help those displaced by the war as that was the reason for Rochmond's founding. The leaders along with counterparts in Voslo formed the Keepers of the Inn and retrofitted Damsel's Respite to take in the refugees, some stayed in town while others moved on to their next stage.
The years continued on and Rochmond became a trade hub thanks to its position on the river, Aster Road, and the Sun Roadway allowing travelers from near and far to seek goods from around the region and for those in need of work to find easy employment. By the time the War of the Eternal Day and then the War of Storms came around Rochmond was able to aid in the form of bodies and supplies for the Emperors Guard. Though with the wars not reaching all the way up to Rochmond the ones left behind had the chance to continue other projects, mainly helping with the establishment of the Elkirk dig site and aiding it to become a town in its own right.
By the year 960 Rochmond felt secure in their place in the world that was until the War of Red Waters hit. Like the rest of the region, Rochmond was deeply affected by the war, losing just over a third of its population to both soldiers on the front lines and dying crops that could no longer be fed by the now-destroyed Oaksby River. Even the noble families felt the cost of the war, with both the Marcellus and Navaro families losing their heirs. Once the war came to an end the people of Rochmond begin the process of rebuilding; cleaning the river, fixing walls, and restarting forgotten projects.
It took roughly two decades for Rochmond to become what it once was before the war and by 981 ACW just a year after the town's two-hundredth birthday a war hero by the name of Alejandro Zenith Sapik made his way to town touting a noble lineage, a list of accolades from the war, and the money and influence to back it up. Given his impressive nature, Alejandro requested that he join the town council, wanting to aid in Rochmond's defenses and help move the town's desires forward. After deliberation and ensuring the family titles were legitimate Alejandro was welcomed into the fold. Though many bristled at the man building his estate an hour outside of town, they welcomed his insight into defenses and ignored his calls to remove the recently moved-in families, as the men that led them were once members of the Order of the White Oak.
