Couatl Couriers

Found on the continent of Corum, the guild has become known as the goto couriers if one seeks to send any letters, packages, or items of intrigue to others on the continent. Those who work for the guild know the importance of strong communication between those as important as kings and queens all the way down to mothers and sons. The Couatl Couriers is a deep-rooted and well-established organization with hundreds of workers and operations throughout Corum. The organization does more than just carry letters and packages, it also keeps them safe and secret (if asked).

Structure

The organization has a senior committee of ten people, all of whom are experienced couriers. They decide the fees and the restricted areas (such as dangerous zones or evil-aligned settlements/realms), and inspect the overall quality of service. Their main base of operations is out of Seacrest, and have master couriers in City State of Cyri, Kesh, the Broken City, the capital of Voslo Empire, and the capital of Kingdom of Veaser.  Those who wish to join the courier service must serve the organization for at least one month in one of the city postings delivering mail, have a certain set of skills, and must prove that they can both protect themselves and their packages. All Couriers are given a small brooch that features the figure of a person holding a golden box.

Culture

The ultimate goal of the Couriers is to carry mail and packages throughout the southern region of Corum as well as the northern lands for special packages. They are well aware that their service is valuable, and that they help the region function by doing their duty. 
 
The organization has branches set up in all towns and cities, whether it be in a few outposts in the larger cities or a singular posting in a town's general store. Even though Couriers generally use the safest routes, being a Couatl Courier is considered a dangerous occupation. However, couriers rarely visit excessively dangerous places or take risky roads. Moreover, not all find themselves in treacherous situations. Only more experienced couriers and those who want to take the risks and undertake more dangerous assignments. However, the risks posed by the job mean that potential members are subject to scrutiny. They are put through various tests to make sure they are capable of doing the job before they start their one-month trial period.

Public Agenda

The public is aware that to send a letter it can cost between 1 - 3 sp, and to send a package it can cost as low as 2gp and be as high as 500gp depending on the size of the package.
