Personal history

Childhood
Being an Aasimar Marrry knew that his life would be very different from the other kids his age. His father always stressed that he wouldn’t have all the answers when it came to the powers he would eventually gain, he always gave Marry the freedom to explore what made him different. The few times Marrry asked about his mother Borin told his son that she had left when he was young but always wanted Marrry to have a connection to Rima and her children. He did overhear from a few of the villages inhabitants that some believed that his father killed his mother, but Marrry knew his father to be a good man who wouldn’t do such a thing. Marrry spent his days exploring the forrest near his home rescuing the small orphaned animals that needed a home, fighting bullies in the local village who dared to harm his friends or his pets, and growing an appreciation for the arcane arts.
With his friends Barda and Serode the three would go on adventures in the forest after their weekly schooling, it was here that Marrry found many of his pets that Borin would worry about taking on for only a moment until his sons ability to show great love and care for all things would become apparent that he would allow for the new creature to stay in their small home.
Late one morning Borin approached his son telling him that he would be heading off to the market for the day and that Marrry should take care of his chores for the day and try his best to not bring back animals for the day. Marrry agreed and went about his morning chores all the while thinking that he would not be going into the Anvil forest, but his pet chicken had other ideas. Looking up from feeding the dogs and pigs, Marrry saw the one year old chicken quickly heading to the overbearing wooded area that he had recently heard from a few kids in school that the forest had monsters inside of it that hurt and killed animals for fun. Not wanting his favorite chicken to be harmed Marrry quickly ran after the loose bird. Under the cover of the dense trees he made quick work of finding his chicken, upon picking them up Marrry saw that the chicken was watching over a small baby bird that looked to have a broken wing. Always one to help an animal in need, Marrry gingerly scooped the small creature into his free hand deciding to bring it back to his home and hopefully mend it back to health.
Once safely in his room with a few supplies from the small medical kit his father kept in the house he set himself to up on his bed with the bird and began to concentrate on healing it. As his concentration grew his ability to keep his hands still wained. His hands were shaking with energy he had never felt before, as his frustration grew at not being able to control his body the energy grew in power to the point that light began to emanate from his finger tips. Shaking his hands out in fear Marrry hoped that whatever this was would go away soon. What he didn’t fully notice was that his father had come home looking for one of the candles that he had forgotten. Walking into his son’s room Borin was met with a sight that he was not expecting, his ten year old son sat on his small bed with a baby bird in front of him, and the strangest thing being Marrry’s hands glowing with bright gold light and shaking with energy.
Forgetting his reason for coming home in the first place Borin grabbed Marrry by the forearm and the bird, rushing them both to the village doctor fifteen minutes away. Once there the old doctor carefully examined Marrry’s hands, taking in a sense for the energy that flowed through them. The doctor asked Marrry to try and channel the energy into the small bird while thinking about healing it. Marrry obliged, carefully placing his hands on either side of the injured creature focusing all of his energy on wanting it to get better. As he did he felt magical energy running down his arms, reaching his hands, and expelling through his fingers. The room was lit with bright gold light that the other two occupants felt as being goodness and life in it’s purest form. As the light and energy subsided and Marrry released his hands the baby bird happily chirped, stretched its wings and flew away. Marrry was happy that he was able to help the creature, but had wished he’d be able to keep it as a pet.
With the moment passed Borin sighed with relief, giving his son a tight but relived smile; he then sent Marrry to sit outside of the examination room so he could speak to the doctor. Marrry wasn’t able to fully make out what was being said but the few things that he did hear did give him pause.
Doctor “Its just going to keep growing as he gets older you know, it might be time to send him to the academy.”
Borin “I’m not sending him away just for the government to keep him locked up for the rest of his life.”
Doctor “Borin you are not equipped to deal with a child of his nature.” muffled sounds
Borin “I can handle this, just keep your end of the deal and I’ll keep mine.”
Borin exited the room and collected his son and guided him home, once there he made it clear to Marrry that his powers although helpful should only be used in extreme emergencies.
Adolescents
As Marrry got older he began to question the world around him more and more. Wishing he knew why he didn’t have a mom and why his father wouldn’t talk about her, why he was chosen to take on these powers and why his father seemed so fearful of them. He had begun reading some of the magic books that his teacher had in her personal collection and testing out a few spells here and there, all the while sensing that if he wanted an answer to any of his questions and grow beyond the skills he had developed that he would have to leave his small village and make his way to the capital of Avalon.
With each day at the feeling of needing more in life grew. Having found a kinship in the goddess of trickery Sehanie, he felt her call to bring justice to those who needed it and take from those who deserved it. He knew thanks to some of the books he snuck from his teacher that Aasimar where born to non magical parents but that didn’t help ease the pain on the guilt he felt over having these gifts that he wasn’t able to use while so much suffering and heartache happened in just the village he lived in. The village only reinforced his notions of helping the world thanks to his powers.
Early one evening after having taken down the new candle orders Marrry was heading home and on his way out of the town heard the sounds of an animal in danger. Rushing towards it he saw the town bully and potential psychopath Oliver. His red hair looking like fire in the night, Oliver looks up from his slightly hidden spot and flashes a menacing smile at Marrry before running off. Marrry quickly goes to see what Oliver was doing and finds a baby bunny was the last victim of Oliver. Marrry focused his healing energy like he had in the past and placed his glowing hands upon the small body. He stayed with the bunny well into the night trying his hardest to heal the creature, but even with all of his power granted to him by the gods and goddess’ above Marrry was not able to save the poor creature only ease its pain as it passed.
Borin having gotten worried about his son when he didn’t return at sundown went looking about the area calling out his name until he came across him siting in a grassy patch as his body rocked with sobs. Taking his son home Borin helped him give the bunny a proper funeral and lay him to rest. It was a few days later after the shock wore off that Marrry swore he’d one day get revenge on Oliver Chaucer but also he would go out into the world to hone his skills to ensure that in the future not only would he be able to stop evil in its tracks but heal and save those from the brink of death.
Late in the winter just a weeks after his 21st birthday on a cold Othlon night Marrry wrote out a not for his father, explaining how to care for the animals and that he cared for his father deeply but he knew he was meant for more. Gathering his things and saying goodbye to the only home he had ever known Marrry made his departure from the small village for the grand city of Rycca.
