Personal history

Born to a human father and Orcish mother, John spent the first few years of his life traveling the lands with both of his parents. After a surge of psionic energy from his mother nearly killed him, John's father felt it was best to keep him and his mother separate. His wound never truly healed and causes him pain every now and then. They moved to the northern edge of the Kingdom of Galorian  and when John was fifteen he was recruited into the The Grey Cloaks. On their behest, he moved to Rycrioun and eventually set up shop in The Exalted City of Rycca to act as a high-level beacon for the cloaks. Along the way, he saved the life of a gnomish man named Gart Tallfellow who promised to pay back the life debt.  In the city, John purchased and became the owner and operator of The Merry Fox inn and tavern, with Gart being the head barkeep. In his position, he's been able to recruit new psionic users that make their way into the city and give them a safe haven as well as work with his contact in The Council of Advancement and Awareness  Cyprian Méinn to ensure the cloaks stay under the radar of the civilian population and as never find themselves at the wrong end of a government blade.

Education

Mostly homeschooled by his father, has been taking classes with a private tutor recently to learn more about magic and how the arcane arts work.

Employment

Owns The Merry Fox Inn and Tavern: A modest in on the north end of Rycca, just before the gates and on the main road. It is a two-story stone and timber building. The first floor holds seating for a large crowd, a small stage for performers with a roaring hearth next to it, and a well-stocked wooden bar. The second floor holds rooms for weary travelers and a decent bathroom for them to clean themselves off. The basement acts as storage, with a false bottom that holds all of the illegal items John needs to move for the cloaks.
