Gaius Corvo
Gaius Corvo was a Baron of the world of First Light and a political figure of the 27th century.
Early Life
Gaius Corvo was born in 2580 on Earth, the eldest son of Tiberus Corvo and Marinna Mavros. Raised in Milan and later Dhaka City, he came of age under the public eye as his father rose to become Governor of Earth and later Father-General of The Ashen Church .
His teenage years were marked by rebellion and volatility, with multiple disciplinary incidents during school. However, his outlook shifted significantly in 2595, when he accompanied his father to the founding of First Light, a religious colony based on Ashen Church values. The experience had a grounding effect, instilling a sense of duty and purpose.
In 2598, Gaius enrolled at Cydonia College, where he studied military history. He matured into a disciplined and well-regarded student, actively involved in student life and Ashen Church volunteer work. He graduated in 2601, determined to follow the family’s tradition of public and military service.
Military Career
Unlike his father and grandfather who both served in the Marine Corps, Gaius Corvo chose a naval career, entering the Republic Naval Academy and being commissioned in 2602. He served aboard the RES Luxor as Assistant Tactical Officer.
Gaius’s defining moment came during the Battle of Vodhyna in 2604, when the Luxor suffered severe damage. With senior officers killed, Gaius acted as XO under fire, stabilizing the ship and later leading a damage control team that saved trapped crew members—sustaining serious burns in the process. For his valor, he was awarded the Navy Cross and promoted to Lieutenant Commander.
He concluded his naval service as a Landing Signals Officer aboard a fleet carrier before mustering out in 2609 to succeed his late father as Governor of First Light.
