Matsuko Solvune Character in Orlon | World Anvil

Matsuko Solvune

Matsuko Solvune (a.k.a.

Matsu

)

Matsuko first appeared on Orlon during the period referred to by Historians as the Warring Era. He was always considered odd due to his firm belief in non fatally dealing with his targets, despite being a soldier in one of the most brutal regimes Orlon had ever seen. It was this that earned him the admiration of the people when he finally overthrew the Tyrant King Lasym.

200 Year Diary: 900
Ayammeshki, Naboni, 900, Brachus Iesti

It has now been two hundred years since I arrived and one hundred thirty years since Susabi's final sky. Nusunai the Younger is the only remaining Sharpclaw left. It appears that this species can be long lived, perhaps even going beyond two hundred in the correct circumstances.   I feel as if I am ready to start further exploration. I will begin studying the Tailless of this region, and comparing the two societies.   Aki has now passed one hundred and a half years, with another eleven on top of it. So far he's lived a full sixty eight years longer than Susu with no signs of stopping soon.   It pains me to have to say goodbye, but I think now I have encroached on them long enough, and I will now pursue my goal of assisting them at a Kingdom level far beyond the scope of the tribe even before the Forest War.   Finding a place for Ningal while I'm there is another matter...

200 Year Diary: 800
800, Brachus Iesti

Aki is now an Elder, it's been wonderful seeing how the tribe has evolved. New technologies and hunting techniques are being developed at an incredible rate. This tribe has natural born craftslizards.

200 Year Diary: 786 An Elder in the Making
786, Brachis Iesti

Akitaas has grown into a very fine lizard, and an excellent diplomatic communicator. I will be borrowing from him. The tribe's population is holding steady at around 2100 to 2500.

200 Year Diary: 766 A Goodbye
766, Brachus Iesti

Susabi has left this realm in a peaceful slumber, at ninety-three years aged. He was surrounded by friends, family and tribe members who never left his side during the split.   Ningal and I have decided to move into the village for a while. How long is something we haven't worked out yet. One aspect will remain ingrained with the tribe. The Nightscale has developed an almost personal relationship with the tribe. I predict more appearances will follow.

200 Year Diary: 753
753, Brachus Iesti

The war that Ukin got caught up in was no small incident. Unfortunately it came down to a first contact going wrong due to greed and power lust. Nusuli earned his title by being treacherous enough to trigger a civil war to gather followers to consolidate power and grab more territory. With a long drawn out counter campaign, steeped in dancing with the Nightscale and Shadow, Nusuli's campaign was brought to a halt when it no longer became financially viable. I still have not seen any trace of the two Elders.

200 Year Diary: 733
733, Brachus Iesti

Finally the war has ceased. The remaining six thousand have split two ways and left the last remnants of Susabi and Nusunai's tribe shattered and broken. I've not seen any trace of the two since this revelation.

200 Year Diary: 732
732, Brachus Iesti

Both the Shadow of Peace and the Nightscale made their appearance, causing at least the main conflict to cease. Upon realising that a Tailless invasion was potentially on the horizon, a new unity was found.

200 Year Diary: 730: Civil War
730, Brachus Iesti, Sangudea, Sarenith, 13 Hours

Civil war has broken out between members of the Ukin tribe. I deeply regret not being able to fully fulfil my promise.

200 Year Diary: The Fifthteeth Year
5th Day, 10th Month, Local Year 715

I've studied the stars, tracked the two moons, and located six other planets in the Orlon to which the look on his countenance is one I shall never forget.   He declared it a private family heirloom, to be preserved at all costs. I am prepared for it to be destroyed in one way or another, but the meaning will forever remain with us both.

200 Year Diary: The Fifth Year
Year 5

I have learned their written and spoken language and have improved the skills of their archers, as promised. I've learned much about the structure of the tribe.   Susu is an absolute delight to be around. We both share a love for the stars, maybe his love is the deepest I've seen for a civilisation at this level.   I have to wonder if, with rare exceptions, it is the fate of most grounded beings to want to see a domain that is not natively theirs.

200 Year Diary: The First Year
9th Day, 4th Month, Local year 701

I've stumbled upon a great fortune. Although there were no signs of advanced life, I was pleased to find upon my landing, a tribal group that was of very good intellect. I was introduced to two new species at once on my first visit! The first was the one who rescued me, and introduced me to the second. The translator transliterated the meaning of "Mauka" to be, hard scaled running fur beast, but I really liked the transliteration to the point that when the time came to scientifically categorise them I would use the language of the people I first met.   The Ukin Tribe of Lizards was cautious, but friendly. It appeared as if my proximity to the Mauka I encountered was a major factor in their acceptance of the ones they call The Tailless. I do have a tail, which is immediately how I differed myself from the others. They also made specific mention of my skin tone, which to me indicated that the majority of the mammalians similar to me would be of a lighter skin tone, making it far more difficult to blend in with them naturally.   Within a year, I had befriended the Mauka I met to the point that he accepted an official name for himself. It was also during this period that I began my learnings of the Ukin tribe spoken language, without the translator, as well as learning their written language for reference alongside the spoken.
