Ishorna

Ishorna is a nation in the northern parts of Orioth. It's capital is the city of Elandras, located along the Howling Coast and includes the Taurënel Forest, as well as the sections of the Esqualdan Plains directly west of the Monavir Mountains. Ishorna is the oldest nation in Orioth. It weathered the Age of Iron and the tyrannical rule of Olganoth, as it had weathered so many trials before. The nation was long restricted only to the Taurënel Forest, but in the aftermath of the Order of the Golden Rose's crusade against the Pact of Iron, the borders expanded south and west to form current Ishorna, controlling a large portion of the Hearthlands. It is ruled by an ancient Elven king, refreed to as the Primus. The current ruler is Primus Ilrune. Ishorna is one of the three nations making up the northern alliance known as the Farborne Coalition. Ishorna is based on horticulture more than agriculture, with most towns and cities having large, tiered gardens to feed the community, rather than large fields of staples, growing things like string beans, spinach and squash, often bolsteres with gathered things such as hazelnuts and berries cultivated from the surrounding woods, and in particular apricots, which they use as a primary ingrediant in a local specialty known as Moon Wine, although the plains-folk have different preferences. The people of Ishorna practice a conservationist hunting approach, carefully managing hunts to keep a balance among the animals of the forests and fields, with strict and harsh punishments for poachers. In particular, the Midnight Stag, a jet-black stag with ivory-white antlers, is prized by poachers, and of cultural signifcance to the Ishorna people. They also produce the largest amount of silk in the world, using the full-grown moths as pollinators among thier trees and gardens.
