Age of Iron

The Age of Iron was a time in the history of Orioth characterized by the despotic rule of a collection of tyrants known as the Pact of Iron. Lasting just over one thousand years, the Age of Iron only ended when a group of holy warriors, known as the Order of the Golden Rose, led by a blessed child named Saint Emalia, rose up from a small town in the Gemine River Basin called Alvaryd, rebelling against the Pact. They waged war for decades, and one by one slew the near-immortal tyrants, and returned peace to Orioth, leading to a brief golden age of peace before human nature began to reassert itself and people squabbled anew. The Age of Iron ended 87 years ago.
