Caledwyn

Caledwyn is a large nation in norteastern Orioth. It takes up the majority of the Gemine River Basin, save for the western and northern reaches which belong to Tressaunt. It stretches all the way to the Tempest Coast. The capital of Caledwyn is the city of Alvaryd. The nation is primarily Human, although the Wild Elves reside within the Khavrel Forest. The humans of Caledwyn have an unusually high occurance of Aasimar in thier bloodlines. Caledwyn is a Theocratic nation, led by the Order of the Golden Rose, and ruled by Saint Emalia. Many people of Caledwyn believe that, as the home of the Order, they should be the hegemonic rulers of all Orioth, in the pursuit of protecting people, often from themselves. The people of Caledwyn often tend to favor security over freedom. They export large amounts of lumber, grapes, wool, and wine, and tend to favor wine and brandy. Many pastoral Caledwyn natives herd sheep, leading to poularity from wool and mutton. They favor rye as a staple food, and often dark rye breads. While wine is more popular dark rye beers are also commonplace.
